Mes objectifs pour les Jeux d'hiver du Canada 2007
As being a part of team Prince Edward Island, we sometimes struggle with being the underdogs of the tournament. I hope to help lead the team to have successful games where we feel we have reached our personal best. It is also very important to our team to treat our competators with respect and play the game with dignity
Mon modèle, mon inspiration
My personal role model is my sister Heather. She is 2 1/2 years older than me and as another player has always been there to push and support me throughout my ringette years. She has always been an excellant leader and captain for her team and it inspired me to work hard and stand out on my teams. At the 2001 Canadian Ringette Championships Heather suffered severe whiplash in her last game of the tournament against Nova Scotia which put her out of comission for over a year. Where others would quit after injury, she strived to work harder in her sport. In 2003 I had the opportuinty to play on the same Canada Winter Games Ringette team with her, and I believe that the reason I worked so hard to make and stay on the team was because of the inspiration she gave me. Heather continues to keep the spirit of ringette alive today. Last year she became the founder and president of the Ringette Society at St. Francis Xavier University. This is the first time the unversity has had the opportuinty to have a ringette team. She has helped to keep the sport alive and well by promoting the sport and encouraging players new and old to come out and participate.
