Mes objectifs pour les Jeux d'hiver du Canada 2007
My goals for 2007 winter is to do my best, and fight my hardest and show these judokas what the 3 basic things of judo are 1) respect 2) sportsmanship 3)train hard and you will see how great you actually can be
Mon modèle, mon inspiration
I have two personal role models
1)Amy Cotton, she is an olympian in judo, and is in -78kg catagory. the reason she is one of my role models is she doesnt just do judo for herself, she does alot of training camps for all ages, and that is all over the world, from newfoundland to japan to all over. I have been to two of her training camps, she has shown me many things but probably the best thing of all is my new moto, your a champion before you get on the mat and no matter what your a champion when you come off.
2) My second role model is Erin Bradbury Massey, my female coach for canada winter. She is one of the greatest, no she is greatest person i know, she is so easy to talk to and is probably the only person i feel safe talking to about EVERYTHING, and she has gone through some of the stuff im going through right now, she has been through ups and downs with me and has helped me through, but this great person has done so much, she not only went to the canada winter herself for judo, but this will be her second time in a row being the female coach for the newfoundland judo team. She also runs her own club. If i had to some up erin into a sentence i would have to say: "Erin Bradbury Massey is my role model because everyday she teaches me to believe in myself and to me there is no greater then the feeling of accomplishment for yourself!"
Autres renseignements me concernant qui pourraient intéresser les médias
I have been in judo 7 years, and have been training for the canada winter 2007 since i began judo, my first coach(joe coffey) asked me what my goal for judo would be, and my response was: To go to the canada winter. But my training for the canada winter wasnt always so easy, there were alot of ups and downs. For example; my first time at an out of province tourtament at the age of 12, i ended up in hospital because i twisted nerves in my back, another hard time was when i developed an eating disorder and everyone said that my chance for canada was gone and that i was going to end up quiting, well i worked so hard to prove them wrong, and today i can proudly say i overcame that disorder, and i proved them all wrong. So Something interesting to tlel the media for me would be that after all of this, im not stoping at canada winter, i am going to keep going and the sky is the limit my ultimate goal for this is to one day run the sankyo judo club and to maybe one day become the female coach for canada winter newfoundland judo team.
