My goals for the 2007 Canada Winter Games
I want to make B finals and I want to skate solid races. I want to make the most out of the experience and have fun!
My personal role model
Kristina Groves is my personal role model as she is now a two time Olympian and she won two silver medals at Torino last year in long track; 1500m and team pursuit. She babysat me when I was a kid and I have always looked up to her. Kristina introduced me to the sport of speed skating, which has become my main passion in life.
She went to the Canada Winter Games in 1995 when she was 18 years old, which is the same age I will be entering the Games. I still keep in touch with her on the phone and when she is in town. Kristina is a very hard worker and she inspires me because she had to work many years to reach the top. She demonstrates how a good attitude and perseverance really pays off.
Other information that could be of interest to the media
I enjoy speed skating as well as piano and singing. I have recorded various jazz and hip-hop songs with piano and vocals. This is my second year nominated as Ontario Skater Representative. I will continue my training and studies at the Calgary next year.
