My goals for the 2007 Canada Winter Games
I want to go to the Games to have fun. I want to win some games, meet curlers and other athletes from across the country and play well. The competition will be really stiff, we have played the teams from PEI and New Brunswick already and know a high caliber of teams is going to be at the games. If we get there and we are playing well that's great. It would be awesome to make it through to the finals, but even if we don't the Canada Winter Games will still be the experiance of a lifetime.
My personal role model
Like most curlers I look up to all the curling greats, Brad Gushue, Russ Howard, Sean Adams, Colleen Jones and many others. I want to do what they do.
Other information that could be of interest to the media
I first started curling because I saw Colleen Jones playing in the World Championships on TV and I thought it looked like fun. Now, 6 years later I play on a team with her nephew, and one of my coaches is Colleen's sister and teamate Monica.
I have wanted to go the the Canada Games for awhile now. Both my younger brother and my twin sister went to the 2003 Canada Games in Bathurst for figure skating and my father in sailing in 1969. In the spring of 2005, I sailed in the qualifier for the Summer Games for Sailing, but I came 3rd, and it was only the top qualifying boat (Geoff Beck who won a Gold medal) who got to go. Now I finally get to go there too.
I am in my first year of Engineering at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
